What Video Camera to buy? (2,000-4,000 dollar range.)?

I want to buy a Professional camera. I have a budget of between 2,000- 4,000 dollars. I was thinking of a Canon or a Sony, but with the budget i have there are a high amount of cameras to sift through. I will be using it for movie production and am going for greatest picture for the price.as well as if it has a great microphone with it. It’s okey if it’s shoulder mounted. I really appreciate any help any one can gave me. Thanks!!!
I was looking at the Sony HVR-HD1000U.

The Sony HVR-HD1000U is basically a high-end consumer camcorder in a shoulder mount format. Check the lens size and imaging chip size against the HDR-HC9. The HD1000U also has oly a 1/8″ audio jack. Pro-grade shotgun and handheld mics generally use XLR connections.

The HDR-FX1 (and its replacement, the HDR-FX1000) are “prosumer” cams. Good lenses and chips – still have only 1/8″ mic jack. The HVR-A1U has the same lens and CMOS chip as the HC9 – but it does have XLR mic connections and some other features pro-cam have. It is essentially the same as my HDR-HC1 (but I add a BeachTeck DXA-6 or juicedLink CX231 when I need to use external mics). I do the same with my HDR-FX1.

The Canon XHA1 and Sony HVR-Z7U meet all your requirements. (In this match-up, the Canon is better in low-light, but has a steeper learning curve – the Sony LCD panel is WAY better.) Both will provide GREAT video and audio.
