how to record stuff from a video camera on a computer?

i have a Panasonic Lumix digital video camera I want to use it for MSN and stuff i seen it done before on the net but I don`t know how to do it.does anybody know how to do this.
every time i plug in my camera it keeps thinking its memory.

just plug the usb cable that they gave to you and install the software (its in the CD they also gave you that)

once the software is installed and your computer detected it try to open now your recorded movie (what so ever) in the installed software.
