Are those video camera baby monitors really worth it?

My friends bought that and said it was terrible. The screen is tiny, the image is very poor and the reception is sketchy at best. They had it for a week and returned it for a Fisher Price Lights and Sounds monitor. I have the same one and it is fantastic. You can hear a pin drop with it.

Besides, you will mostly use the monitor when you are asleep in case the baby wakes, you won’t even see the video.
