What is the best video camera to use when I go to Universal Orlando®?

Last time I went I brought my Flip Ultra with a waterproof case. When I later reviewed my videos back at home, they all sucked. The only three things I absolutely need is a cheap price, a handle/grip thing, and water resistant/proof case.

If that youtube video is the example, the camcorder did its job.

You did not use any steadying device (monopod, tripod, side of the boat or railing on the boat) and you moved the camera way too much… Rather than taking the time to do any editing to remove the too-fast panning you did to pick up whatever caught your attention at the moment, you left them in – using a video editor is strongly suggested to remove that. There is no camcorder that can fix your panning technique.

As for the dark interior at the end, there is no camcorder under about $1,200 that will handle that low light well. I was actually surprised to see what was picked up inside in the dark portion of the ride with what you used. To handle low light well, the camcorder lenses need to be larger than 43mm and the imaging chips need to be much larger than what is in those pocket cams. The large lenses allow more light into the camcorder – the larger imaging chips allow more of that to be processed.

The Canon GL2 and Sony DCR-VX2100 both have top-handles – but are not water resistant or water proof (a case from Ewa-Marine or a heavy-duty zip-lock bag might be enough). These are all likely outside your budget – and are much larger than a small pocket entry-level camera.
